Alhamdulillah wa salatu wa salam ala rasulullah (SAW) amma ba'd... Assalamualikum

Many of the people do not really follow what is in their Scripture. Rather they tend to follow its followers or their elders. But sometimes they can be wrong. So the best way you can follow a religion is to look into its Scripture and follow its laws. And In Sha Allah Iam gonna show you some of the things that you never knew existed in Hindu Scriptures which are similar to Muslim Scripture.

First, I want to introduce you to the scriptures in Hinudism and Islam

--Hindu Scriptures: The most sacred and authentic Scriptures of Hinduism are the Vedas (RigVed, YajurVed, SamVed, and AtharvaVed) followed by the Upanishads,Puranas, Itihaas (Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagvad Gita).

--Muslim Scriptures:

It is the Quran and Hadith (sayings of Prophet Muhammad(SAW)). The authentic books of Hadith are Sahih Bukhari collected by Imam Bukhari, Sahih Muslim collected by Muslim b. al-Hajjaj, Sunan Abu Dawood collected by Abu Dawood, Jami al-Tirmidhi collected by al-Tirmidhi, Sunan al-Sughra collected by al-Nasa'i and Sunan ibn Majah, collected by Ibn Majah.

9 similarites between Hinduism and Islam from the Scriptures: (though there are more. If you wish to know more, contact me)

1. God is One

-“Ekam Evadvitiyam” which is translated as “He is one only without a second.” [Chandogya Upanishad 6:2:1]

-Say,"He is Allah The One and Only" [Quran 112:1]

2. God has no idols or images

-“Those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires worship demigods”i.e. others as deities besides the True God. [Bhagwad Geeta 7:20]

“Na tasya pratima asti”which is translated as“There is no image of Him”. [Yajurveda 32:3]

"Those people enter into darkness, who worships only "Asambhuti"(Natural objects like fire, water, etc) and those too enters into darkness who worship only "Sambhuti"(Created things like idols)" [Yajurveda 40:9]

The Brahma Sutra of Hindu Vedanta is:

‘Ekam Brahm, dvitiya naste neh na naste kinchan”

“There is only one God, not the second, not at all, not at all, not in the least bit”.

-"Nor is there to Him (Allah) any equivalent." [Quran 112:4]

3. God has no parents nor children

-"“He who knows Me as the unborn, as the beginning-less, as the Supreme Lord of all the Worlds.” [Bhagvad Gita 10:3]

-"He begetteth not,Nor is He begotten; "[Quran 112:3]

4. Belief in Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

-“Then in the twilight of the Kali age, when kings will be as good as robbers, this protector of the world will be born of Vishnuyasa under the name Kalki“[ Bhagwat Purana Khand 1 Adhyay 3 Shloka 25]

1.  Mother’s name Sumati i.e. Aaminah

The name of his mother will be Sumati (K.P.2: 4 & 11), which means gentle and thoughtful, Prophet Muhammad’s mother’s name was Aaminah, which means peaceful and gentle.

2.  Father’s name Vishnuyash i.e. Abdullah.

His father’s name will be ‘Vishnuyash’ which means ‘worshipper of Vishnu’ i.e. ‘worshipper of God’. Muhammad’s father’s name was Abdullah which means ‘obedient worshipper of Allah i.e. God’.

3.  Born in Sambhala i.e. Makkah

He will be born in a village called ‘Sambhala’ which means house of peace and security. Makkah is known as Darul Aman, which means house of peace and security.

4.  Born in house of Chief Priest.

He will be born in the house of chief of the village Sambhala. Muhammad (pbuh) was born in the house of the chief of the Kaaba.

5.  Born on the 12th day of Madhav i.e. Rabi-ul-Awwal.

It is prophesied that Kalki Avtar will be born on the 12th day of the bright (first) half of the month of Madhav. It is a historical fact Muhammad (pbuh) was born on the 12th day of the bright half of the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal.

6.  He will be the Antim or final Avatar

He has been described as the ‘Antim’ i.e. ‘the last and final’ of all the Avatars. Priophet Muhammad SAW is the last and final messenger.

-Muhammad is not The Father of any Of your men, but (he is) The Messenger of Allah, And the seal (the last and final) of the Prophets, And Allah has full knowledge Of all things. [Al Qur’an 33:40]

5. Jihad

- “Therefore strive for Yoga, O Arjuna, which is the art of all work.” [Bhagavad Gita 2:50]

-"Permission [to fight] has been given to those who are being fought, because they were wronged. And indeed, Allah is competent to give them victory." [Quran 22:39]

6. Pilgrimage

Kabah is located at the center of the Earth.

-“In ILA’s place we set thee down, upon the central point of earth.” [Rigved, Bk. 3 hymn 29 verse 4]

-The first House (of worship) Appointed for men Was that at Bakka Full of blessing and of guidance For all kinds of beings.[Al Quran 3:96]

7. Fasting

-"If he has unwittingly eaten the food of one of those, (he must) fast for three days; if he has eaten it intentionally, or (has swallowed) semen, ordure, or urine, he must perform a Krikkhra penance." [Manusmriti chapter 4 verse 222]

-"O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you As it was prescribed To those before you, That ye may (learn) self-restraint." [Al Qur’an 2:183]

8. Hijab

-"God made you women , so that you shall lower your gaze , do not look at men , keep your Feet close cover you hear and should not disclose the garment , which should conceal with the veil” [Rig Veda Book 8 Hymn 33 Mantra 19-20]

-"And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty" [Quran 24:31]

9. Alcohol and gambling is prohibited

-"Drinking, gambling, women (not lawfully wedded wives) and hunting, in that order, he should know to be the very worst four in the group of (vices) born of desire” [Manu Smriti Chapter 7 verse 50]

-"O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone alters [to other than Allah ], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful." [Quran 5:90]

You may think why did I mention the similarites and not differences. Its reply is given in the Quran:

"Say, "O People of the Scripture, come to a word that is equitable between us and you - that we will not worship except Allah and not associate anything with Him and not take one another as lords instead of Allah ." But if they turn away, then say, "Bear witness that we are Muslims [submitting to Him]." [Quran 3:64]

So, if you are a good hindu, you will follow your Scriptures not the followers. And the moment you follow it, you will be a Muslim at heart as you will be following the basic teachings of Islam. All you require to do is take the SHAHADAH (at heart or publicly).

If I made any mistakes, it was from Shaytan and my own mistakes. If anything you find is useful, is from Allah as He guides whom He wills.

JazakAllahu Khairan. BarakAllah Fekkum and Salam...
